Hello there. I’m guessing you’re trying to suss me out a little bit so I’ll give you a hand!

I will be taking the liberty of shifting to the third person for this one:

James Ballard is a cinematographer and director with a career spanning cinematography, high end footage licensing, color grading, tv development and, most recently, VFX, James has built a visual language informed by strong composition, evocative light, texture and scale. Via Filmsupply, his footage has been licensed by leading global studios and brands — including Apple, Netflix, Google, Meta, Amazon, Microsoft, Sony, Disney, BBC, and NBC Universal.

He is the music writer and creator of September 87, further developed with Paul Henri, a musical visual project that went on to be developed into a TV show with Sony Pictures (USA) and Stolen Picture (UK). Hollywood being Hollywood, this project didn’t make it to the small screen however the next musical visual project is currently in the works.

James approaches image-making and direction as an end-to-end craft; designing shots, worldbuilding, setting the tone, shaping environments and honing the final compositions with equal intention.

Ok, I’m back. There are a few other things I’ve been involved in but nobody likes a long bio and we can chat about that when we hang out.
